Send Larvae

Forwarding of Trichinella larvae

Forwarding of Material:

  1. Fresh materials (e.g., infected muscle tissue, contaminated meat products, human biopsy) should be promptly shipped by expres s courier service. The material should be securely sealed in airtight plastic bags or containers and placed in a polystyrene box with cooling plates. Human biopsies should be preserved in a plastic vial filled with sterile saline to prevent dehydration.

  2. Frozen material must be packed with dry ice and shipped in a polystyrene box by express courier service.

  3. Larvae should be sent in a hermetically sealed small tube (1.5-2 ml), filled with 90% ethyl alcohol. It is recommended to collect the larvae immediately after artificial digestion and rinse them 2-3 times before transferring them to the tube to remove any traces of digestive fluid.

  4. Sera, collected from non-hemolyzed blood samples, should be sent in hermetically sealed plastic vials. It should be refrigerated if delivered within 24 hours and frozen for longer shipping periods. Please note that the antibody titer decreases with each freezing and thawing cycle.

The shipping of material must be done in compliance with international safety and biohazard regulations.
